Why is everyone talking about a Windows 11 “uplift” right now?

Because Windows 10 reaches end-of-support on 14 October 2025. After that, no more free security updates or bug fixes from Microsoft. You can pay for Extended Security Updates (ESU) on Win10, but it’s a stop-gap—not a strategy. Moving to Windows 11 24H2 gives you current security baselines, management features and longer support.

Can we stay on Windows 10 and buy ESU?

Yes—Microsoft sells paid ESU so Windows 10 devices keep getting critical patches past Oct-2025. It buys time (typically up to three additional years) for edge cases or legacy apps, but it doesn’t add new features and costs escalate yearly. We use ESU tactically while we replace or upgrade hardware.

Will our PCs run Windows 11?

Devices must meet Windows 11 hardware requirements: supported CPU, 4 GB+ RAM, 64 GB+ storage, and TPM 2.0 with Secure Boot. We can inventory, test and (where safe) enable TPM in firmware during the assessment.
